Intel's new low voltage quad-core Intel® Xeon® processors (L5320 and L5310) represent a 35 to nearly 60 percent decrease in power from Intel's existing 80 and 120-watt quad-core server products. As IT increasingly focuses on reducing electricity bills and cooling costs associated with computing infrastructure, these new processors, requiring just 12.5 watts of power for each of the four cores, deliver similar performance yet set a new standard in energy efficiency. The potential for cost savings by replacing aging infrastructure with low-voltage quad-core Intel Xeon processors and deploying virtualization technology can be as much as $6,000 per year over the lifetime of each server.


PICMG 1.3 Single Board Computer and Backplane Technology

The PICMG 1.3 standard represents the latest in high speed serial link bus technology. PICMG 1.3 adds PCI Express capability to the backplane, along side traditional 32/64-bit PCI. PCI Express allows the user to use high end graphics cards and RAID controllers, as well as other high speed interconnects, without having to worry about overloading the system bus and degrading the overall performance of the system.

Diverse Power Supply Options

This system can be configured with many different power supply options. It can be configured with standard AC input power supplies. Or if your environment requires it, DC input power supplies are also available in 12V, 24V, and 48V input voltages.
