PICMG 1.3 Single Board Computer and Backplane Technology

The PICMG 1.3 standard represents the latest in high speed serial link bus technology. PICMG 1.3 adds PCI Express capability to the backplane, along side traditional 32/64-bit PCI. PCI Express allows the user to use high end graphics cards and RAID controllers, as well as other high speed interconnects, without having to worry about overloading the system bus and degrading the overall performance of the system.
