The RDC-5K integrates a HulaPoint™ pointing device and a full numeric keypad for dual functionality. Ruggedized rackmount keyboards from IKEY corner the market on rackmount peripherals. These units are standard 19" rackdrawers with a 1U (1.75") rack height. The drawers have a CRS steel construction with chrome plated ball bearing slides. They are painted black with a polany epoxy paint. The drawer has an option of either a pull slot, a t-handle, or a t-handle with key.

The RDC-5K features NEMA 4, 4X ratings. NEMA rated type 4 products are meant to be used in indoor or outdoor applications, and must provide protection against falling dirt, rain, sleet, snow, windblown dust, splashing water, hose-directed water, and must be undamaged by the formation of ice on the enclosure. NEMA rated type 4X products provide all the protection of NEMA 4 with the addition of protection against corrosion.
